It’s human nature to want things. I see it all the time, people wanting to make more money, wanting to fall in love, wanting better careers, or wanting to find their purpose in this life. More than anything, they just want to be happy. And if you are one of these people, I have some advice to help you make your wants become realities.
You need to spend money in order to make money. Period. You need to actually stick your hand in your pocket, pull out your wallet, and basically GIVE away those hard-earned dollars. That’s how investments work; that’s how profits happen. Without investing in yourself, your ideas, your business, or your own growth, you’ll never profit. You first need to give before you can receive, not the other way around. You’ll receive based on how much you’re willing to give. Rich people get richer because they understand they need to GIVE before they can get. Giving, whether it takes the form of money or hard effort, is the only way to open the door of opportunity that will allow wealth to come in.
If you want to fall in love, you need to have the ability and be willing to actually LOVE someone. Love is more than just saying you love someone; you also need to show them you do. Love exists only if you are able to express it through action. When someone says, “I love you,” this actually means, “I feel for you.” The feelings we recognize as love are expressed by actions of kindness towards the one whom we are feeling for.
If you want to find true love, you must take risks. Love happens when you open your heart. Opening your heart means being vulnerable, which also means exposing your weaknesses. Falling in love is being willing to tear down your walls and be your true self. Finding true love is actually finding your true self.
You absolutely need to take risks if you want to advance your career. In order to move forward, you need to be able to get out of your comfort zone and be willing to face your fears. Don’t be afraid to fail a few times. Failure teaches you about yourself and your abilities, and it teaches you that a setback or two is not the end of the world. You pick up the pieces and move forward stronger and less fearful than you were before.
The more risks you take, the more chances you’ll have of becoming successful and the further you’ll go. Remember, everyone is scared at some point. How each person reacts to those fears is what separates one person from another. You already have the right answers within you; you just need to stop asking the wrong questions.
If you want to find a purpose, you have to be willing to learn. You must be open, humble, and obsessed with the self-improvement process. Remember, purpose isn’t a destination, it’s a journey. It is a starting point, not a finish line. You can only find your life’s purpose if you dig down to your core and discover who you truly are.
Purpose—the same as your core—is a pure form of energy waiting and ready to be accessed. Learning, as opposed to growing, is not instinctual. You actually need to make a conscious choice to improve yourself and discover your life’s purpose. You only can if you believe you can; you only are if you believe you are. It’s all up to you.
If you want to be happy, you need to be healed. You have to face, deal with, and heal your wounds. You need to make peace with the past, accept the present, and embrace your future. Happiness is a state of mind, not a ring on your finger or a trip to Hawaii. Happiness is in your mind and soul, not in your closet or your checking account.
Happiness resides within you right now if you know how to tap into it. Happiness exists only for the ones who WANT to be happy. Happiness is a conscious and deliberate choice. You need to actually choose to be happy or it’s not going to happen. We are each the architect of our own destiny, or the reason of our life’s atrophy. Since we take responsibility for our successes, we should also stop blaming others for our shortcomings. Look within first. Find your happiness there.
Did you notice a theme in how to achieve any of these desired items? Success in any area of life starts within you, no one else. If you want something, it’s up to you to make that happen in your life. No other person can do it for you. Good luck!
