My name is Leo Frincu and I’m a transformational coach. With this short blog, I will share with you why GIVING is better than TAKING.

We have a daily opportunity to feel good, happy and feel like living our life on this planet is a gift, rather than a chore.

This feeling is something we should strive for every day – to feel blessed, experience true joy and take advantage of what this life offers. Unfortunately, somewhere and sometime in our past, we learned that this feeling is simply a consequence or result of another action.

We have been taught to believe that to feel joy, happiness and good about ourselves we must acquire stuff, imitate, impress and please others, just to name a few.

Consequently, acquiring stuff has become our number one priority. We’ve become conditioned to think we need status, followers on Instagram (IG), likes on Facebook (FB), money, and fame to feel joy and happiness.

But, our quest to acquire these things, has instead left us feeling frustrated, disappointed, angry and depressed. Feelings I’m sure everyone is familiar with, until, not very often, one of us gets “lucky” and strikes gold with a promotion, a new car, another pair of shoes, or even another partner.

Now you’re experiencing joy and happiness. Now you’ve gotten a taste of honey. You might work harder than others, be more skilled, have a different background, skin color or just happen to be in the right place at the right time.

None of which is the point because you’re feeling better now.

Furthermore, you go online and tell the majority of the public who haven’t made it to their happy place yet, how it feels.

And we, the majority who’s in our quest of acquiring stuff get motivated to keep going and stay focused on our priorities. Even more, the society takes you, that individual who made it, and turns you into a role model. Now everyone’s motivated and inspired to do more of the same thing – acquire stuff.

NOW IS WHEN IT BECOMES A PROBLEM.

You, the one who “made it” still don’t experience the true joy and happiness you were hoping for, the true joy and happiness I was talking about earlier.

You still don’t feel like living on this planet is a gift. You, or the ones who struck gold still don’t feel blessed, true joy or good about themselves, because they’ve simply experienced the fake joy and happiness. These fake feelings conditioned by acquiring all that stuff are short lived and they’re in constant need of more stuff.

Most of us won’t ever get to experience that joy and happiness because getting lucky and striking gold does not happen as often and is not as popular as striking out.

By failing to meet our daily acquiring quota, we start building resentment towards our partners, bosses, other people, even other cities, cultures, religions and finally ourselves. It’s a true downward spiral.

Now do you see how much further we are moving away from our true joy and happiness?

We will never feel the true joy and happiness we’re all hoping for by acquiring more stuff. We need to do the opposite – GIVE.

True joy and happiness come from giving.

GIVE AS MUCH LOVE AND HAPPINESS AS YOU CAN. Give hugs, give smiles, give heart and give soul. Give and then the stuff will come. Give and only then will you have everything, not the other way around. True joy and happiness happen because of giving.

They are not a consequence of getting stuff. We can only feel joy, happiness and good about ourselves when we stop chasing money and start chasing good feelings; when we focus more on giving and less on taking.

As I stated earlier, we have a daily opportunity to feel true joy and happiness. Let this blog inspire you to pick up the phone and call an old friend, give a stranger a compliment, forgive someone who did you wrong, or simply help others in alternative ways. True joy and happiness reside in each of us. Experience it more often by shifting priorities and transforming your life.

God bless.
