A situation has never happened to me before where I actually wanted to lose weight for someone else. Ryan is 11 years old and had to lose 10 pounds in three days. He came in on Wednesday at 137.6 pounds and needed to get down to 127 lbs by Saturday in order to make the footbal team. Don’t ask me why he waited so long. His coach called asking me if I could help and I couldn’t say no. Ryan is your typical neighborhood kid. He was never pushed past his limits. He didn’t believe in himself, and he never knew what he was capable of until someone actually physically took him there. After 3 days of very hard work with no food and very little water; after a long hot bath session on Saturday morning (today), he proved to all his friends, family, and coaches that he has what it takes to be part of the team. He lost 10.7 pounds in 3 days. These 3 days were the hardest days of his 11 years of life.

He might put the weight back on, he may even go back to his burgers and fries, however, he will never forget these 3 days and what it takes to achieve his goals. Ryan will always remember that someone believed in him more than he believed in himself. This boy lives in all us. If we never had a similar life changing experience, we will never know what we are capable of. We grow up believing in our false ideas of who we are, and what we can do. We take these limitations to our adulthood, we take our insecurities from the “white belt” to “black belt”; we basically grow up believing that “we can’t do it”. I was never inspired by an 11 year old until Wednesday when Ryan, your typical neighborhood kid, walked through my door.

Moral of the story…

And, the INSPIRATION is right in front of you, you just need to be AWAKE in order to see it.

Have a great day. God bless.
